Why I Started Surf Strong Academy
Surfing gave me more than a sport. It gave me confidence, resilience, and a way to face hard things. I started Surf Strong Academy to give Carlsbad kids that same foundation, with safe, structured coaching that builds who they are in the water and out of it.
I'm a competitive surfer and sponsored athlete who grew up in the water in Southern California. I'm Lifeguard Certified and CPR/First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. I built a team of trained instructors who all coach the Surf Strong way — so every child gets the same quality, structure, and care.
What every kid walks away with
Every kid should leave a Surf Strong lesson standing a little taller, with a new skill in the water and a bit more belief in themselves. That confidence is what they carry home.

Coaching Philosophy
Surfing is one of the best tools for building character in young people. Every wipeout is a lesson in getting back up. Every wave ridden is a moment of real confidence. Our instructors are trained to coach the whole child — not just the surf skill.
